Bomb threat at Manassas Mall by 12-year-old: police

MANASSAS, VA – A 12-year-old was identified as the source of a bomb threat against Manassas Mall on May 22.

Police say there are threats of violence against the shopping center at 8300 Sudley Rd. appeared on Instagram on May 22. The mall was evacuated as a precaution while police searched the grounds and found no explosives.

Detectives identified the suspect as a 12-year-old girl and found the threat not credible. After consultation with Prince William County Juvenile Court Services, the case will be handled through the juvenile diversion process. No formal charges have been filed against the 12-year-old.
