NFA Field Hockey Coach Emily Murray

Norwich — Emily Murray has been named coach of the Norwich Free Academy hockey team after two seasons as head coach of the East Lyme hockey team.

“I’m thrilled to have Emily take over our program,” NFA athletic director Roy Wentworth said in a news release Monday. “She knows our kids, she knows our league and she knows the game. She’s going to be a tremendous leader for our student-athletes.”

Murray, who teaches physical education and health at NFA, previously served as assistant field hockey coach, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant girls tennis coach for the Wildcats. She replaces Noelle Houle.

“I’m excited and ready to get started,” Murray said in the release. “I’m so excited to work with our students here at NFA. The field hockey program has such an opportunity to grow within our community. I look forward to bringing my passion for field hockey and track and field to this program.”
