PARKERSBURG β€” Mid-Ohio Valley RoboCamp, a week-long hands-on robotics camp, will be held July 8-12 at Discovery World on Market.

Dark Side Robotics members lead STEM-interested campers ages 11-14 on a robotics journey filled with fun activities, robot construction, and coding challenges. Participants will learn about building and coding robots using VEX IQ robotics kits, and no previous robotics experience is required.

The camp will take place daily from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from July 8-12 at Discovery World at Market, 900 Market St.

Cost is $100, plus $20 for a camp T-shirt, of which campers must bring the T-shirt money on the first day. Bringing a laptop is preferred, but not required.

Campers work in small teams to build VEX IQ robots, write code to make their robots operate autonomously, and test their building and programming skills in friendly competition with other teams and their robots.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis on the Discovery World website www.dwonmarket.org, organizer Markus Teltscher said. There are 30 spots available for the camp, he said.
