Utah welcomes Reid Jarvis to the 2024-2025 roster

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men’s tennis head coach, Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Reid Jarvis, a graduate transfer from Drake University. Jarvis will join the Utes for the 2024-2025 season.

“In addition to being a great tennis player, Jarvis brings a world of experience and leadership to our young and deep team next year,” Brateanu said. “He has won conference championships, been part of a team that has qualified for the NCAA tournament multiple times and is a born winner and leader.”

Jarvis, a native of Springfield, Mo., finished four years as a Drake Bulldog. He will join the Utes as a graduate transfer in the 2024-25 season. He sat out the 2023-2024 season as a redshirt. During his time with Drake, he recorded more than 40 singles victories and 35 doubles victories. He also posted an 18-1 record in the Summit League.

In 2022–2023, he posted a 15–6 singles record, playing primarily at the fifth spot. He played primarily No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and recorded an overall record of 10–7. He remained undefeated with a 5-0 record in conference play in both singles and doubles. He is a two-time All-Summit League selection. He also served as team captain at Drake for three seasons.

I am beyond excited to join the Utah family,” said Jarvis. “In addition to the university’s outstanding athletic prowess, its exceptional academic reputation makes it a perfect fit for my goals as a graduate student. We have a young, talented team with an exceptional coaching staff. I couldn’t be happier to spend my senior year of college in Salt Lake City.”
