St. Paul’s Country Church Activities on Sunday and Monday – Mercer County Outlook

(5/20/24) The members of St. Paul’s Country Church, located at 1538 Oregon Road, Rockford, OH, invite you to their worship service at 10:00 AM on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

The title of the sermon is “Being ‘religious’ is not enough.”

Based on John 3:1-17. Pastor Mike Husted will present the service.

3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish government council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher from God. For no man could do the signs that you do if God were not with him.”

3 Jesus answered, “Truly I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.(A)

4 “How can a person be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they can’t go into their mother’s womb a second time to be born!”

5 Jesus answered, “Truly I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh begets flesh, but the Spirit begets spirit. 7 You don’t have to be surprised when I say, ‘You(C) must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it pleases. You hear the sound, but you can’t tell where it’s coming from or where it’s going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

9 “How is this possible?” Nicodemus asked.

10 “You are the teacher of Israel,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 I tell you very honestly, we speak of what we know and we testify of what we have seen, and yet you do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you about earthly things and you do not believe; How then will you believe when I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone to heaven except the one who came from heaven: the Son of Man.14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up.(F) 15 that whosoever believeth may have eternal life in him.”

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
