CANNES, France – On paper, Emilia Perez, the much-discussed entry for the Cannes Film Festival, doesn’t seem like a good idea for a movie.

The film, which premiered Saturday in Cannes, is probably the first film that can honestly be compared to both “Sicario” and “Mrs. Doubtfire” – and that’s just a start.
