Suspect in Sgt. Hooser’s death charged in Utah County

PROVO, Utah – The man accused of killing Sgt. Bill Hooser has been indicted. Utah County Attorney Jeffrey S. Gray spoke at a news conference this morning to detail the allegations. He also said they will seek the death penalty.

The Utah County Attorney’s Office has now filed formal charges against Michael Jayne.

Formal charges filed

The following charges have been filed

  • 1 charge of aggravated murder
  • 2 counts of attempted aggravated murder – For attempted UHP and woman who was a passenger.
  • 1 case of aggravated kidnapping.
  • 1 burglary.
  • 3 cases of car theft.
  • 1 charge of failure to obey lawful order to stop
