Trump reveals that youngest son Barron likes to give him ‘political advice’

Donald Trump told a Pennsylvania radio station that his 18-year-old son is interested in politics and is giving him advice on his moves.

In an interview with Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, the former president said high school student Barron Trump is a “great student” who is interested in politics. “He will sometimes tell me, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do,’” Trump told the newspaper.

His comments come shortly after the Republican National Convention (RNC) announced that the 18-year-old would serve as a delegate from Florida at this year’s convention. Trump’s two other sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., will also serve as members of the Florida delegation.

Barron’s mother, former first lady Melania Trump, issued a statement a day after the RNC announcement saying her son would in fact not attend due to “prior commitments.”

Delegates at the RNC – scheduled for July in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – will vote on their choice of Republican candidate based on the results of the primaries.

However, since Trump no longer has any Republican opponents in the presidential primaries, he is the presumptive nominee and will almost certainly win the candidacy in July.

Trump also said his son, who turned 18 this year, is trying to decide where to attend college in light of widespread anti-war protests on campuses over the past month. More than a thousand protesters have been arrested and demonstrations are still ongoing as Israel’s war in Gaza continues.

“He’s in high school now and going to college,” Trump said. And you know, a lot of these college choices are changing because you see what’s happened in the last month.

Earlier this year, Trump claimed that Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing his ongoing hush money lawsuit, did not allow him to attend Barron’s graduation ceremony.

However, Judge Merchan did grant his request, saying on April 30 that it was no problem for Trump to take a day off for the ceremony because the trial is currently running on schedule.

Trump’s trial has just been postponed for a weekend after several days of fiery testimony from porn star Stormy Daniels.

Also this week, Judge Merchan rejected a mistrial from Trump’s defense and denied a request to lift the silence order imposed on Trump so he could respond to Ms. Daniels, who mocked him on Twitter by saying that “real men ‘ to give evidence.
