Texas regulators seek lawsuit to challenge small lizard’s endangered status

Energy companies contest AG’s lawsuits over market manipulation

The little sage lizard we’ve been telling you about and the impact it’s having on oil and gas companies in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico is at the center of the latest conflict with the federal government.

Now the Texas Railroad Commission, similar to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, has voted to challenge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s May decision to list the lizard as an endangered species.

The case is in the hands of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who will decide whether to actually file a lawsuit, according to a report from the Fuel Solution from Houston Chronicle.

According to the newspaper, it was a unanimous decision by the Railroad Commission.
