District 8 Tournament Action Continues Today | News, Sports, Jobs

ELKINS — Play resumes today in the District 8 Little League tournaments for 10-12-year-olds and 8-10-year-olds at Riverbend Park.

In the 10-12 year old game, Elkins will play Clay County at 5:30 p.m. and Belington will play Craigsville at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the elimination games.

The winners will face each other on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tygart Valley, meanwhile, will take on Summersville in the title game on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The loser of that match will face the winner of Saturday’s match in the second match.

In the 8-10 year old game, Elkins will face Braxton County in an elimination game today at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Tygart Valley and Summersville will play a championship at 4:30 p.m., with the loser taking on the winner between Elkins and Braxton County at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in the battle for second place.

Both the champion and runner-up from each tournament advance to the state tournament.

The state tournament for children ages 10 through 12 begins July 12 at the Ona Little League Complex (Ona Milton Little League), and children ages 8 through 10 will play July 5 at the Sophia Little League Complex.
