Bright Eyes announces new album ‘Five Dice, All Threes’

Bright Eyes have announced their return after four years with their new album Five dice, all three, will be released on September 20 via Dead Oceans. The announcement also comes with the LP’s lead single, ‘Bells and Whistles’, alongside plans for a US and UK tour.

On the band’s tenth album, they are joined by old friends Cat Power, Matt Berninger of The National and Alex Orange Drink of The So So Glos, each making guest appearances throughout the record.

The lead single, “Bells and Whistles,” features a jam-packed music video directed by Josh Boone, which was filmed in Omaha, Nebraska.

“This is a song about the many small details in life that may seem insignificant, frivolous or temporary at the time, but ultimately determine your fate,” Conor Oberst explained, adding: “It’s also a kind of flute while your working scenario. ”

Self-produced and recorded at Oberst and Mike Mogis’ Omaha studio, Five dice, all three follows the band’s 2020 comeback album Down in the weeds, where the world once was.

In 2022, the band also announced plans to re-release their first nine studio albums under Dead Oceans. The first three of these coincided with the release of ‘Falling Out of Love at This Volume’, ‘Contrast and Compare (featuring Waxahatchee)’ and ‘Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh (featuring Phoebe Bridgers)’ A collection of songs written and recorded in the period 1995–1997, Letting go of happinessAnd Fever and mirrors.

Following the new album, the band plans to tour the UK and US, including headline slots at Riot Fest and BFF Festival.
