PA lawmakers hold a public hearing on the closure of the University of the Arts

More than a week after the sudden closure of the University of the Arts, Pennsylvania state lawmakers are hearing from former students, faculty and staff.

The House Democratic Policy Committee will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. Monday at the William Way LGBT Community Center in Center City.

Earlier this month, the institution said it was closing due to its “fragile financial condition” caused by declining enrollments, revenues and rising costs.
