#Gamecocks get another in-state prospect in Gaffney lineman Sarratt – SportsTalkSC

Shed Sarratt

South Carolina football is heading into Father’s Day weekend on a high. Late Friday evening, Gaffney OT Shed Sarratt (6-5 290) announced a commitment to the Gamecocks at a party in Gaffney and via social media.

Sarratt is the 12th commit for the class of 2025, the first offensive lineman and the fourth commit from South Carolina State for Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks.

“He really checks up on me and my family and asks how I’m doing,” Sarratt said. “He sends me their practice videos. He’s trying to help me become a better player. I feel good towards them,” Sarratt said. “I like the coaching staff. I like that they keep in touch with me and check on me every week. Coach (Shane) Beamer is a good coach.”

He chose USC over a litany of other schools, including Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State and Tennessee. He attended Carolina’s spring game in April and has an official visit with the Gamecocks on June 21.

Sarratt said his relationship with OL coach Lonnie Teasley was a turning point in his recruitment.
