Detroit Zoo announces Simba the lion will leave in near future – Erie News Now

Simba, a lion who has called the Detroit Zoo home for more than a decade, will move to the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the near future. There he will live in a newly built, state-of-the-art lion habitat. The Association of Zoos and Aquariums has recommended the transfer of Simba to support the sustainability of a healthy, genetically diverse and demographically diverse lion population in zoos.
