Lynn Langston – Post Bulletin

Lynn Ivan Langston, 89, of Stewartville, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from complications of cancer. Lynn was born on August 27, 1934 in Hurricane, Utah to Francis Ivan Langston and Maud Beardall Langston. He grew up on the family farm, attended city schools and graduated from Hurricane High School. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wyoming and Montana.

Military service followed, serving honorably in the army. After his release, he lived in Ogden, Utah, where he worked as a mechanic at the Wonder Bread Bakery. In Ogden he met Helen Holyoak and married on February 5, 1960. They started a family and while he worked full-time at the bakery on evenings and weekends, he attended classes at Weber State College as a full-time student until graduating in 1970. moved to Ohio, where Lynn worked for Stouffer Frozen Foods. In 1973, he accepted a job in Rochester, MN with the Kroger Company. He was a plant engineer at Pace Dairy Foods for 25 years.

Lynn and Helen settled in Stewartville where they raised their family. The couple were married for 55 years and raised four children, giving them ten grandchildren before Helen passed away in 2015. They are all lifelong active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lynn loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

In 2017, Lynn married Stella C. Yates. He is survived by his wife Stella and his children Francis (Terry) of Spokane Valley, WA; Lynette (Bob) Kochenderfer of Maple Grove, Minnesota; Leroy (Roseli) of Stewartville, Minnesota; Scott (Amy) of Otsego, Minnesota; ten grandchildren and sister Jean (Kent) Peterson of Cedar City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, sisters Elaine Christiansen and Nedra Mansor; and brothers Clair and Keith (Camilla).

There are no services or visitation planned at this time. In accordance with Lynn’s wishes, a private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
