Bezuidenhout will represent South Africa at the Olympic Games

Christiaan Bezuidenhout will represent South Africa in Paris later this year at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Bezuidenhout finished fourth this weekend at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club on the PGA Tour.

In addition to securing R19 million in prize money, South Africa’s top-ranked golf qualified to represent his country at the Olympic Games.

Bezuidenhout said it will be special to represent South Africa at the Olympics and he has his sights set on a medal.

“It is certainly a huge honor to represent our country,” said Bezuidenhout, who earned his Sunshine Tour card at the Bloemfontein Golf Club during the annual Q-School in 2015.

“The Olympics are one of the highest levels we can play. It’s an incredible experience. “Hopefully I can bring back a medal for South Africa.”

The golf tournament at the Olympic Games will be played from August 1 to 10 at Le Golf National in Guyancourt.

Meanwhile, Bezuidenhout is one of four South Africans set to start the 124th US Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina this week.

The other South Africans in action this week are Dean Burmester, Erik van Rooyen and Casey Jarvis.
