Frances M. Halder – West Central Tribune

Frances Halder, 102, of Willmar, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Her celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, with visitation a half hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Raymond.

Frances Marian Halder was born on December 13, 1921 in Lamoure, North Dakota, the son of Michael and Louise (TerEick) Halder. She was baptized at the Lutheran Parsonage in Lamoure and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis on May 11, 1952. Frances went to school in Lamoure and Renville.

Frances lived in Minneapolis and worked at General Mills and Dayton’s. She later returned to the area to be close to family and most recently lived at Brookdale Senior in Willmar. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, being with friends, doing puzzles, playing bingo, word searches, drawing, creative coloring, reading and eating out.

She is survived by her nephew: Dennis (JoAnn) Caskey of Priam; her niece: Diane (Dennis) Gronli of New London; and her great-nephews and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Alice (Ernie) Caskey; her brother: Charles Halder; and her fiancé, Robert Brody.
