But it turns out he also has a pretty prominent second job.

In a conversation with Rucker op Taste of country evenings, we started talking about his love of sports and his alma mater, University of South Carolina. I told him I wished they would hire him to coach something.

Then he revealed what his side hustle is.

The singer of “Wagon Wheel” said:

Actually, I’m the assistant coach of the women’s golf team.

Rucker chuckled, so I wasn’t sure if he was real. Then he doubled it down: “I am, I am. It really is me, actually.”

Why would Darius Rucker work as a golf coach?

The important thing to look at here is that he doesn’t have to get a second job; he chose it because it is a passion project for him. Rucker is known in country music circles as one of the best golfers that most country artists would ever want to beat.

Rucker also hosts the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Golf Tournament each year, where he performs a special concert for all attendees.
