PHILADELPHIAPhillies outfielder Brandon Marsh is sidelined with a right hamstring injury that forced him to leave Sunday’s 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.

Marsh, 26, was lifted for a pinch runner in the bottom of the eighth inning after rounding second base on a single by Nick Castellanos.

Marsh left the field under his own power. The team said he would be further examined on Monday.

Dr. Mike Cirigliano explained on Good Day Philadelphia that an MRI will likely be needed to determine the severity of Marsh’s hamstring injury.

Before Monday night’s game, the Phillies announced their roster moves, placing Marsh on the 10-day injured list due to his right hamstring injury.

Phillies shortstop Trea Turner has been out since early May with a left hamstring injury and is not expected to be back until mid-June at the earliest.

In addition to Marsh’s injury, the Phillies also made the following roster moves prior to the game against the Milwaukee Brewers:

  • selected outfielder’s contract David Dahl from triple-A Lehigh Valley,

  • transferred right-handed pitcher Michael Rukker on the 60 day injured list,

  • posted infielder Kody Clemens on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to 5/31) with lower back spasms, and

  • recalled infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson from Lehigh Valley.
